Proud family man thanks to my beautiful wife Kara and son Hayden, numerous endurance events from my Mom's first 5k to EPIC 50k trail adventures, and the occasional powerlifter when the platform is calling me!

Chris Hinshaw's Aerobic Capacity
I've been very active my entire life in various sports, with my main influences coming from baseball and martial arts. Baseball spanned my entire childhood, from playing peewees as a kid all the way through high school and traveling most summers on select teams. Baseball was also my first experience learning the importance of having a great coach in your corner. My Dad was a part of every team I've ever played on and I learned so much from him, not just about the game but more so about how to genuinely care about the time you spend on your craft and the people you interact with. Martial Arts also played a huge role in shaping my character, both as a young child and later on as an adult. It taught me a lot about discipline, respect, and the physical and mental capacity it takes to accomplish great things. Martial arts was also my first actual coaching experience as an adult and where I really learned that I wanted to find a way to make a difference in the lives of others!
I was initially drawn to CrossFit for the challenging workouts and the physical and mental benefits from working really hard. But as the weeks and months went by, it was the COMMUNITY that hooked me and made me feel like I really belonged to something SPECIAL. The impact that all of the coaches had on my life was enough for me to realize that I also wanted to be that example for others and started down that path as well. Through coaching, I have met some of the most inspirational people I have ever known and they have changed my life FOREVER. What started as a one-day-a-week opportunity to coach a couple of classes has grown into a full-time career pursuing what I love to do on a daily basis. I am FOREVER GRATEFUL for Kitsap CrossFit and the way it has spread to every corner of my life!
My "Why" is very simple: to make a difference in the lives of anyone that walks through our doors and to be a positive example for our community and for my family to look up to. Everyone BELONGS at KCF and I want to be one of the first faces you see when walking in the door, welcoming you just the way that I was welcomed 11+ years ago. Whether you are a seasoned athlete looking to really test your limits or you are working out for the very first time in your life, my goal is to help you unlock your full potential and instill newfound confidence in yourself that you can achieve ANYTHING you set your mind to!
