The Church of CrossFit
Some folks like to call CrossFit a cult, but would you go so far as to call it your “religion”? There was a very interesting article published in the New York Times called: Some turn to church, others try CrossFit that makes an interesting argument about what actually qualifies as a religion.
Huberlie described the CrossFit experience as an intimate, supportive one, in which cheering for one another to meet fitness goals was expected. It is a culture that can produce effects more often associated with church.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call KCF my place of worship, but I believe it definitely qualifies as a place of fellowship and communion.
