Age is Just a Number III Recap

Wow! What an amazing day it was out on the Olympic Peninsula on Saturday. We got super lucky with the weather. Even though it did rain in the afternoon, we were thinking it was going to rain all day long.

For the 3rd year in a row, Storm King CrossFit put on another great event. There were 75 teams between the Rx and Scaled divisions and KCF’s 23 teams made a huge presence. It was awesome to have such a big crew there.

All the teams participated in 4 events, the 3 announced workout plus the Ski Erg floater. Needless to say, everybody was feeling pretty beat up before the Finals were announced. A total of 7 KCF teams made it to the finals; 4 scaled teams and 3 Rx teams. When the dust cleared, 5 of the teams made it to the podium.

The final event was an absolute leg killer, especially when you consider all the leg work that had been done during the day. In case you are wondering it was:

9 min AMRAP
10 calorie Air Bike
max rep Driver Squats

Please join us in congratulating all the teams that participated. Everybody put forth their best efforts and made KCF proud. How about another round of applause for the folks who have participated in all 3 years of this event. That speaks to the quality of the event and the amazing sense of community that it embodies.

Finally, let’s hear it for the teams that made it to the podium:

Men’s Scaled
“Here, Hold My Beer” – Matt E. & Ryan W. 2nd Place

Women’s Scaled
“Kipping It Real” – Amber W. & Jessie N. 3rd Place

Men’s Rx

“Run DMc” – Dan H. & Scott M. 2nd Place

Women’s Rx
