KCF Athlete Profile: Robb Young

Age: 43

Occupation: Journeyman Plumber

First CrossFit WOD (other than “Baseline” or Fundamentals): I don’t remember exactly what it was, but I know there were thrusters involved.

First Thought After First CrossFit WOD: Thanks for dragging my sorry ass in here Jen, I’m not sure we can be friends anymore.

Before CrossFit I Did: Some cycling, outdoorsy stuff, walking

Favorite CrossFit Movement: Any team WOD, rowing and atlas stones!

Least Favorite CrossFit Movement: Thrusters

Most Surprising Accomplishment: Climbing a rope without using my feet

Best Part About Kitsap CrossFit: The best part about KCF is the people. Whether I have been working out with you for five years or five days, there is this mysterious bond that binds us together and forms this thriving community of positivity. Having a rough day? Come to the box and lift heavy stuff and have your peeps yell at you with encouragement.

Short Term Goals: I am working on a sub 20 minute 5K row. I’m close.

Long Term Goals: My long term goal is to continue to be a part of KCF and continue to improve myself and help my peeps improve themselves.

Favorite Food: Boy, this is a tough one. There are so many choices, I can’t pin just one down. I guess my favorite food group is meat.

Favorite Activities Outside Of The Gym: I like working around my place, projects for the wife and kids. Playing with power tools. Having epic fires. Fishing. Biking.

Share with us your “Why”: I started my journey at KCF on D-Day 2011. I love this place. I had no idea that embracing the suck could be such a thrill! “Why” I KCF is because of the outstanding people who I fight along side with on the floor and the awesome coaches who are right there with us leading the charge.
