Cleaning up our kids’ diets
Kids nutrition is definitely a hot button topic. The First Lady is taking on the obesity epidemic with her new Let’s Move campaign. This isn’t a new idea. Years ago we learned of Two Angry Moms who were fed up with school nutrition and decided to do something about it. While we disagree with the conventional wisdom that kids need “lots” of whole grains, we whole-heartedly agree that highly processed and refined foods need to be eliminated from kids diets – period. It is also refreshing to see them reference grass-fed meats. Harvard Medical School recently talked about the need for obesity prevention very early in a child’s life. With some kids eating 2 meals a day at school, you can see why this issue is so important.

The way our children eat in schools is so important! Sequim School District has partnered with Nash Farms to provide local fresh produce and meat, an amazing program I wish they had when I attended school there.
Has anyone been watching “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution”? Very eye-opening!
